  1. ......Honestly I really tried on my submission. And I'm kinda upset at the fact that a submission that wasn't a 3d model won.

  2. same here. I can't believe this turned out to be a joke. I'm sticking to it for one more week purely because I already started on my idea. I'm upset as well that a non 3D model won. I'm all for having fun and joking around (Im assuming this is some kind of joke) but its not really that funny considering how much work some people really but into this project.

  3. Also as more of a side comment. Next time can you post the high resolution pictures. I would have like to look at some of the models with out fuzzy edges. These all seem to be small picture file. That ok, i guess, if that is how they were sent in.

  4. Yes, for some reason the thumbnails weren't working correctly. I didn't want to upload the full resolution pictures straight to this blog though. I'll get those thumbnails working soon.

Jon, I'll have to tighten up on the rules, but Ballingers piece is actually 3D. http://vimeo.com/35917139

He didn't submit a .png so I guess I shouldn't have accepted it, all he sent in was that vimeo link. I screen shotted the video file for the blog.

Don't be so quick to hate ;)

    3. Is this bump mapped on a thin cube maybe? is that why it is 3D?

  5. No joke. If the pigs 3D, then I'm all for it. The reason for this entire "get together" if you will was to have fun, and improve our skills. When initially brainstormed, there were no winners. That wasn't the point. Mad skill and respect to Mr. Ballinger, who had a freaking sweet piece.

    Love,

    1. I personally dont care so much that who wins. Let the best man win. My problem is more with the structure of this competition. If its no competition then lets not call it that and just say hey...Post your art here.

  6. I honestly dont want to come across as being angry or hateful. I'm sorry if that is they way that it appears. I am just frustrated and disappointed that the guidelines of this competition was unclear. Hopefully, now with some insight as to what is going on, this will become a educational atmosphere. The goal being to increase you skill as an artist and have fun doing it.

  7. I agree with Val, It isn't so much that I "lost". I'm fine with that, there are some really awesome pieces here. It's that by looking at the image it looked like a Photoshop 2d picture not a 3d model. I was just kinda upset that, at the time, I thought that the submission didn't fit the criteria.

And personally I don't think there should be a "winner" for the week. It should just be a way to try hard to become a better modeler.
